President Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed the Measures to further improve regulation of production and sale of some items subject to excise tax decree, the Ministry of Justice said.

The construction of the fourth line of the Uzbekistan-China gas pipeline will be sped up, Uzbekneftegaz said. This became known after the talks in Tashkent with the executives of the Chinese CNODC.

As per the Additional measures to boost the development of Uzbekistan’s automotive industry decree signed earlier by the President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the excise tax on cars manufactured by UzAutoMotors is to be scrapped after October 1, 2019.

From mid-June Kazakhstan began exporting electricity to Uzbekistan, the Kazakh Ministry of Energy said in a statement. 145 million kWh were supplied to Uzbekistan As of July 17 as per the electricity sale agreement between the two countries, with more than 1 billion kWh to be supplied to the Uzbek power grid during the year.

The nuclear power plant, which is to be built in the Jizzakh province, is likely to be named Uzbekistan nuclear power plant, said First Deputy Minister of Energy, Director General of Uzatom Agency Jurabek Mirzamakhmudov.

The President Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed the decree approving the common terms for the production sharing agreement (PSA) between Uzbekistan and Gazprom EP International V.V. (a subsidiary of Gazprom) for the development of the Djel field, Norma.uz said.

The Board of Uzbekneftegaz moved from Tashkent to Karshi (Kashkadarya province), the company said in a statement. The step was taken in order to “swiftly address issues and tasks on the ground and directly monitor the production activities of enterprises” of the holding during the implementation of the production increase plan, the statement said.
