On February 23, the Deputy Transport Minister Jasurbek Choriev hosted the Airbus Group Vice President for Eastern Europe and Central Asia Jacques Garrigue and discussed the ties and perspective plans of cooperation, the Ministry of Transport said.

The parties also reportedly exchange views on the possibility of purchasing helicopters from Airbus Helicopters and studying the experience in the operation of helicopters and conducting pilots trainings.

Jacques Garrigue proposed cooperation in the field of airport management and announced plans for the visit of the French Minister of Trade to Uzbekistan in May this year.

In 2019, it was reported that Uzbekistan had signed a letter of intent with France to purchase 34 Airbus helicopters for use in emergency medical care.
