Tashkent will host the 7th meeting of the Uzbekistan-Egypt Joint Intergovernmental Commission on December 22-24.
The commission meeting after a 15-year hiatus which will be co-chaired by the Minister of Investments, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan Laziz Kudratov and the Minister of Planning, Economic Development and International Cooperation of Egypt Rania Al-Mashat.
The meeting will feature an Uzbekistan-Egypt business forum with the participation of major businesses of the two countries.
The heads of more than 30 major Egyptian companies, including El-Sewedy Electric, Hassan Allam Holding, ACDIMA, Nile Sugar, In2Metals, will visit the country to attend these events.
Following the meeting of the joint commission, it is expected that bilateral agreements will be signed between the ministries and departments of the two states, as well as investment and export agreements between companies.
The last meeting of the Uzbekistan-Egypt Joint Intergovernmental Commission was held in Cairo on May 4-5, 2009.
