The American business and employment-oriented online service LinkedIn was registered by the Uzbek tax authorities, the Tax Committee said.
The registeraion means that in-site fees will now include the 15% value added tax (VAT).
VAT payment procedure has been introduced as of 2020 for foreign-based companies that provide online services.
27 foreign suppliers of online services in Uzbekistan have already registered through the "VAT office of Internet companies". Among them are Netflix, Yandex, Google, Samsung, Apple, Booking.com and others.
