Companies that implemented ecofriendly, sustainable and energy efficient solutions, and minimize the negative impact on the environment will be assigned Green Company status from September 1, 2025.
To be eligible, companies must perform greening, apply energy saving technologies, reduce emissions into the atmosphere and implement the 7R (Rethink, Refuse, Reduce, Reuse, Repair, Recycle, and Rot) ecofriendly framework.
Green Companies will get a number of benefits: priority on Shaffof Qurilish (Transparent construction) public procurement platform, temporary waiver from environmental audits, support in entering international markets and additional points in the Entrepreneurship Sustainability Rating.
In addition, Green Tariffs for power from renewable sources will be adopted in Uzbekistan from April 1, 2025. Benefits will apply to entrepreneurs using biogas, solar and wind turbines, as well as to the population that sells surplus energy to the state.
The authorities will continue to develop renewable energy, including as part of monitoring the government’s solar panel push and Green Energy certificates system for producing eco-friendly electricity.
