Kazakh technology giant, Kaspi.kz is seeking to bid in the Call for proposals for the purchase of 100% government stake in the National Interbank Processing Center, which operates the Humo payment system in Uzbekistan.
According to Forbes.kz, the germane letter was sent to the international company Deloitte, which is the privatization consultant of the State-Owned Assets Management Agency of Uzbekistan.
The CEO of Kaspi.kz, Mikhail Lomtadze said that the company had plans to develop the current business model of Humo, “complementing it with the company's vast experience in developing payment technologies and services that are a catalyst for the growth of cashless payments and contribute to economic growth.”
According to him, Kaspi intends to contribute “significant investments” into technologies and personnel in Uzbekistan, which “will make Humo payment services even more accessible and convenient for everyone.”
“As a result of these investments, Humo will receive an additional impetus for development, expand its technological capabilities and become an example for many in the field of innovation. This, in turn, will lead to further growth of investment attractiveness of Uzbekistan and will become a driver of growth in attracting foreign investment to the Uzbek economy," Mikhail Lomtadze added.
