As part of the visit of the Afghan business delegation to Uzbekistan, local enterprises inked $44 million worth of export deals, the Uzbek Chamber of Commerce and Industry said.
Afghanistan’s permanent population reached 34.9 million. The import market is estimated at $7 billion dollars. The most demanded goods are agriculture, food, textiles, leather, electrical products and construction goods.
At the negotiations, the parties agreed to establish the Uzbekistan-Afghanistan Business Council with the participation of 18 leading companies of Afghanistan.
Reportedly, the setting up of the business council will help to develop cooperation between the businesses of the two countries, create new platforms for bilateral ties, as well as increase the volume of exports of products made in Uzbekistan to Afghanistan and to draw foreign investments.
