Uzbekistan will take part in the international specialized exhibition EXPO-2017, which will take place from 10 June to 10 September in Astana (Kazakhstan),  a statement of the press service of UzExpoCentre, a state run exhibition firm said.

The signing ceremony of the agreement on the participation of Uzbekistan in the exhibition will take place in Tashkent on 13 February.

Kazakhstan's candidacy to host EXPO 2017 was endorsed at the meeting of the executive committee of the International Exhibitions Bureau in Paris on 24 April 2014. In a secret ballot of 161 representatives of Member States of the BIE, Astana's bid was supported by 103 member countries, while 44 members were against. 

The theme of the exhibition is Future Energy. It is expected that the exhibition will be visited by over 5 million people from around the world.
