The Asian Paralympic Committee (APC) announced on Thursday that Tashkent, Uzbekistan, as the host city for the 2027 APC Conference, Asian Awards and General Assembly, marking the first time the country will host the event.

The event is expected to take place in November or December 2027, with the exact dates to be confirmed.

The vibrant city of Tashkent was selected following a competitive bidding process that attracted bids from five National Paralympic Committees (NPCs) across Asia. Following the voting process, the majority of APC Executive Board Members and Standing Committee Chairpersons holding voting rights voted in favour of the Uzbek capital.

The programme will include the APC Conference featuring presentations, discussions and workshops on key areas related to the development of the Paralympic Movement across Asia.

This will be followed by the General Assembly, where the APC membership will come together to discuss key organisational and strategic matters and the future direction of the Paralympic Movement in the region.

The Uzbek capital will also host the Asian Awards, celebrating outstanding achievements and contributions to the Asian Paralympic Movement since the previous edition of the awards.

APC President Majid Rashed congratulated Uzbekistan on being selected following a strong bidding process.

“We are delighted to confirm Tashkent as the host of the 2027 APC Conference, Asian Awards and General Assembly. I congratulate the National Paralympic Committee of Uzbekistan and thank all five NPCs that submitted bids to host these important events.

“Our Conference and General Assembly provide an important opportunity for the Asian Paralympic family to come together, share knowledge, and discuss the priorities that will shape the future of Para sport across our continent. We look forward to working closely with NPC Uzbekistan to deliver another successful and productive gathering in 2027.”
