Today, Shavkat Mirziyoyev hosted the President of Mongolia Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh, who arrived in Uzbekistan to attend the SCO summit in Samarkand.

At the beginning of the meeting, the two leaders exchanged sincere congratulations on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations and reviewed the ways to step up the Uzbek-Mongolian ties.

The presidents highly valued the outcomes of the first Uzbek-Mongolian business forum, held in Tashkent in June this year and noted the wide opportunities to further expand trade and economic ties. The sides focused on the formation of the necessary legal framework and the promotion of specific projects and programs of joint cooperation, primarily in the agro-industrial sector.

Interest was expressed in deepening cultural and humanitarian exchanges and interregional ties. The President of Mongolia noted Uzbekistan effective chairmanship in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and wished a successful summit.

As a result of the meeting, an agreement was reached on giving a systemic character to political and economic contacts between the two countries, adopting a "road map" for further expanding mutually beneficial cooperation.
