On May 17, Tashkent hosted the seventh round of political consultations between the Affairs Ministries of Uzbekistan and Israel. According to the Uzbek Foreign Ministry, the two delegations were headed by Deputy Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan Furkat Sidikov and Deputy Director General, Head of the Department of Eurasia and the Western Balkans of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Israel Gary Koren.

During the consultations, the sides exchange views on topical issues of the Uzbek-Israeli agenda, as well as interaction on international platforms.

“The schedule of closest contacts was discussed, including the upcoming meeting of the intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation and the next round of consultations on the inventory of the legal framework. The importance of deepening the inter-parliamentary dialogue, which occupies a special place on the bilateral agenda, was stated.

In addition, the parties considered some issues of the regional and international agenda and confirmed their readiness for the progressive development of bilateral relations in a mutually beneficial pragmatic manner.

“Mutual interest was expressed in continuing inter-MFA consultations on a regular basis,” the press service of the Foreign Ministry concluded.
