On May 17, the President Shavkat Mirziyoyev had a telephone conversation with the President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev congratulated the President of Kazakhstan on his birthday, sincerely wishing him good health, well-being and success, peace and prosperity of the country.
“The counterparts reportedly commended the significant upward trend in the Uzbek-Kazakh relations of friendship, good neighborliness, strategic partnership and alliance. The two-way trade fogures have been steadily growing since the beginning of the year. Passenger railway communication between our countries has recently been resumed.
Also, the sides highly valued the outcomes of the talks held on the eve of the government delegations of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan and stressed the importance of accelerating the preparation and implementation of joint cooperation projects.
The two leaders also exchanged views on topical issues on the international agenda and the expansion of regional cooperation.
