Silverleafe is a modern agricultural cluster located in Pakhtakor district of Jizzakh province, which was founded in 2018 by two American entrepreneurs - Dan Patterson and Martin Walker, who arrived at the invitation of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
The agrocluster specializes in modern innovative methods of cultivating cotton, wheat and other crops.
To monitor equipment along with harvest data, we, at Silverleafe, use John Deere software. With its help, we collect and process data on the yield and the quality of cotton.
Thanks to innovative sprayers, we get information about the date of application of chemicals, the rate and name, as well as the coverage of the product and in which field it is located. We call this application mapping - the ability to see spray information on a map as an image. This allows us to collect information in Big Data, analyze data from past years to the present, and control the results.
Sustainable agriculture is our goal and soil health and structure is important to us, which also allows us to reinvest in our land through crop rotation, crop residue management and underground drainage systems.
At Siverleafe we rotate our crops between cotton, wheat and other crops. In addition to adding nutrients to the soil of the fields, at the end of each season, Silverleafe distributes the remaining stems and crop residues into the soil to improve its structure. There is also an active countering of the increase in the level of salt on the lands of their region, with the help of an underground drainage system that removes salt-saturated water from the soil.
Among other things, we use bioadditives - environmentally friendly fertilizers, and we also use these products to control pests in cotton fields. Including the use of beneficial insects in pest control.
Development of a sustainable irrigation system based on tidal flow irrigation technology is part of sustainable farming, which is commonly used for cotton cultivation in the US. This new system will deliver water faster and more efficiently than traditional flood irrigation and will be more practical and affordable than drip irrigation.
Silverleafe named this system Pulsar IrrigationTM. This system enables us to quickly and efficiently use water resources for various crops, both cotton and wheat.
