On April 26, 2017, the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received the commander of the U.S. Central Command, General Joseph L. Votel, who arrived in our country on a working visit.
The sides discussed the topical issues of bilateral ties, including in the military and military-technical areas.
An exchange of views took place on the issues of ensuring security and stability in the region. Particular attention was paid to the situation in Afghanistan and the prospects for achieving peace in this country.
Joseph Votel sincerely thanked the President Shavkat Mirziyoyev for the warm welcome and confirmed that the United States is ready to continue the course aimed at the dynamic development and strengthening of the Uzbek-American relations.
