The Commander of the United States Central Command, Joseph Leonard Votel is visiting Uzbekistan. On April 25, the General Votel reportedly held talks with the Uzbek Foreign Minister Abdulaziz Kamilov and the Defense Minister Kabul Berdiyev.
According to the Uzbek Foreign Ministry, the sides discussed the current state and prospects for cooperation between Uzbekistan and the United States.
The sides also exchanged views on a number of international and regional problems, and in particular the situation in Afghanistan.
