The Energy Minister Alisher Sultanov held a working meeting with the Gazprom CEO Alexei Miller in St. Petersburg on October 28, the press service of the Energy Ministry said.
In particular, they discussed cooperation within the framework of an strategic partnership agreement planned to be signed between the Ministry of Energy, the State Committee for Geology of Uzbekistan and Gazprom.
The parties also discussed joint gas production projects in Uzbekistan gas fields.
In January 2020, the Ministry of Energy reported that over the past two years, Gazprom specialists have studied geological materials for five investment blocks, including Chegara-Tagman, Chinabad, Uzunkui, Kossor, and Bukhara-Khiva. Then the ministry said that they expect from Gazprom to speed up the decision-making on co-exploration at new blocks.
