On October 26, Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a telephone conversation with the Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Imran Khan, the presidential press service said.
At the beginning of the conversation, the Pakistani PM warmly congratulated the Uzbek leader on the convincing victory in the presidential election, and sincerely wished peace, prosperity and prosperity to the friendly people of Uzbekistan.
“The President of Uzbekistan and the Prime Minister of Pakistan commended the steady trend in the progressive development of bilateral cooperation. Fruitful meetings during the Tashkent summit in July this year made it possible to bring the Uzbek-Pakistani multifaceted relations to the level of strategic partnership,” the statement added.
The parties highlighted the noticeable growth of the two-way trade figures and the scale of industrial cooperation of the leading companies of the two countries. New projects and programs of cooperation in investment, banking and finance, transport and communication, humanitarian and other spheres are being worked out.
They also exchanged views on the developing situation in Afghanistan and emphasized the importance of consolidating international efforts in order to promote the establishment of peace and socio-economic development in this country.
