A Taliban delegation led by the Deputy Prime Minister Abdul Salam Hanafi arrived in Uzbekistan on October 16, the delegation member Inamulla Samangani said on his Twitter page.

"During the visit, the parties discussed issues of bilateral trade and economic cooperation, as well as security and other issues," Inamulla Samangani said on Saturday morning.

According to him, in Termez, the Afghan delegation will hold talks with a high-level delegation of Uzbekistan headed by Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade Sardor Umurzakov.

Initially, the meeting of the two parties was expected on Friday, but it was decided to postpone it to Saturday.

On October 7, a delegation of Uzbekistan led by Foreign Minister Abdulaziz Kamilov held talks in Kabul with the leaders of the caretaker government of Afghanistan. Then he said that the parties agreed to hold joint negotiations in Termez in the near future to discuss trade and economic issues, including the Surkhan-Puli-Khumri power transmission line and the Mazar-i-Sharif-Kabul- Peshawar railway projects.
