On October 14-15, the President Shavkat Mirziyoyev will attend the online summits of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), the presidential press service said.
On October 14, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, in the observer status, will address the extraordinary meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council, to be chaired by Kazakhstan.
The members of the council are the presidents of Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, the Prime minister of Armenia. The Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel is also expected to address the Council meeting in the observer status.
Reportedly, the Uzbek leader in his remarks is expected to outline promising areas of cooperation with the EAEU.
On October 15, the anniversary meeting of the CIS Summit will take place, with the leaders of Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan expected to attend.
During the event, chaired by Belarus, the results of multilateral cooperation over the 30-year period of the organization's activity will be summarized. It is also planned to discuss issues of countering modern security challenges and threats, as well as sustainable development in the region.
It is expected that the President of Uzbekistan, who is a co-chairman in the CIS, "will put forward a number of important initiatives to achieve the goals and objectives of the long-term CIS Development Concept."
