The President of Uzbekistan signed the Measures to introduce a system of training and education of military personnel of foreign states in the higher military educational institutions of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Uzbekistan Decree.
According to the Decree, departments that will collaborate with foreign military personnel are being created in the higher military educational institutions of the Ministry of Defense (VVOU).
Also, the Regulation on the training and education of military personnel of foreign states in the Higher Military School of Education (HMSE) was approved. It defines the procedure for training and its financing, as well as the rights and obligations of foreign military personnel during the training period.
The training of military personnel of foreign states at the Higher Military School is organized by the Ministry of Defense on the basis of an official request from foreign states in agreement with the Security Council under the President. It is conducted in line with the bilateral international treaties on a gratuitous, preferential, paid basis and in accordance with the procedure established for the cadets, listeners and doctoral students of the Higher Higher Educational Institution.
Annual quotas for admission to HMSE for training foreign military personnel are established by the President. Training is carried out within the framework of additional quotas allocated in excess of the total maximum staffing number of cadets in the bachelor's degree program of higher military education; allocated by the HMSE in excess of the quotas for master's programs, military internship, clinical residency and doctoral studies.
Foreign military personnel are admitted to study at VVOU without entrance exams. Training is carried out according to educational programs of higher military education in the Uzbek and Russian languages in full-time education.
