Uzbekistan is cooperating with a number of countries on the evacuation of their nationals from Afghanistan, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement.

Currently, Uzbekistan is reportedly providing its airport infrastructure to Germany, Russia, USA, Switzerland, Austria, Denmark, Poland, Hungary, Slovakia and Kazakhstan, as well as permits for overflight, takeoff and landing, the necessary technical and logistical assistance.

Over the past few days, 1982 foreign citizens have been evacuated via the territory of Uzbekistan, the statement underscored.

During their short-term stay in Uzbekistan, the evacuees "are being provided with all the necessary assistance in compliance with strict lockdown restrictions measures, after which they are all sent to the countries of destination without delay.”
