Mudslide descended to Kasansay district of Namangan province due to heavy rains in Jalal-Abad province of Kyrgyzstan on July 13 at about 13:30, the Ministry of Emergency Situations said.
Following heavy precipitation, the Kasansay River flowing through the Obod makhalla overflowed its banks. According to preliminary data from the Ministry of Emergency Situations, eight people died, six were injured.
Officials of the regional emergency department, the police department, the prosecutor's office and the mayor’s office arrived at the scene. Search and rescue operations are underway, with preliminary investigation underway.
