At the sixteenth plenary session of the Senate on June 25, it was announced the creation of a Committee on Information Policy and Ensuring Openness in State Bodies, the press service of the Senate said.

The committee will coordinate and monitor the transparency of state bodies and organizations, it was said at the meeting. The senator Farhod Bokiev was elected deputy chairman of the new committee.

The senators noted that the committee was being created to explain to the population the processes of changes and updates in the country, the essence of the ongoing reforms, "saturation of the national information space with objective and reliable information."

Until today, nine committees functioned in the Senate.
