The President Shavkat Mirziyoyev congratulated Ibrahim Raisi on his election as the President of Iran, said Sherzod Asadov the spokesman to the President.
The head of state expressed confidence "in the further development of multifaceted cooperation between the countries in the interests of the friendly peoples of Uzbekistan and Iran."
Iran's current judiciary chief Ebrahim Raisi has comfortably won the country's presidential election.
In official results, Raisi won 17.9 million votes overall, nearly 62% of the total 28.9 million cast.
Ibrahim Raisi has been the Chief Justice of Iran's Supreme Court since 2019, before that he served as the Attorney General.
