The health ministry said about 400 people were tested positive for coronavirus yesterday, with four patients dead. "As of June 17, 2021, the number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Uzbekistan stands at 105,219 (+385)," the ministry said.

Daily rise were less than 200 in the first ten days of June, followed by a sharp increase later. The last time the number of daily illnesses was around 400 in early May.

New cases:

  • 9 in the Republic of Karakalpakstan,
  • 8 in Andijan province,
  • 14 in Bukhara province,
  • 17 in Jizzakh province,
  • 9 in Kashkadarya province,
  • 2 in Navoi province,
  • 9 in Namangan province,
  • 65 in Samarkand province,
  • 3 in Syrdarya province,
  • 72 in Surkhandarya province,
  • 14 in Fergana province,
  • 3 in Khorezm province,
  • 37 in Tashkent province,
  • 123 in Tashkent city.

Also, 4 patients with coronavirus died bringing the total number of deaths from the disease to 717.

The last time 4 deaths were recorded in Uzbekistan was on November 15, 2020.

Currently, 3484 patients are being treated in medical institutions.
