On June 16, the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev hosted the President of Tatarstan (the Russian Federation) Rustam Minnikhanov.
According to the presidential press service, the talks focused on expanding cooperation between the provinces of Uzbekistan and Tatarstan on the example of the Tashkent province.
The parties discussed joint projects and cooperation programs in priority areas, including the creation of a joint industrial park and setting up of a high-tech production unit for chemical goods, metallurgical products, electrical products and various equipment, building materials, joint research work, projects in the field of digitalization and the implementation of innovative solutions.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev pointed to the need to develop extensive trade and logistics network to increase mutual supplies of industrial and agricultural products.
The sides also discussed cooperation and study of advanced technologies in the field of urban planning, management of housing and communal services and improvement, improvement of transport communications and infrastructure.
The parties also agreed to continue active cultural, humanitarian and educational exchanges.
Recently a government delegation of Uzbekistan visited Tatarstan, which included the Minister of Housing and Communal Services Sherzod Khidoyatov, the Tashkent city mayor Jakhongir Artykhodjaev, the Tashkent province governor Davron Khidoyatov and other officials. The objectives of the visit were to exchange experience and study the spheres of housing and communal services, urban planning, architecture, landscape design, public transport, social and infrastructure facilities in Kazan.
