Due to the spread of the coronavirus, Uzbekistan will suspend flights to Japan, the Uzbekistan Airways said in a statement.
The decision was made by the special commission, Uzbekistan Airways flights to Japan have been canceled until the sanitary and epidemiological situation in the country improves.
Partial resumption of flights between Uzbekistan and Japan is planned for the spring-summer 2022 period. However, it is planned to resume regular flights only after the epidemiological situation in the countries stabilizes.
Over 500 flights were operated between Uzbekistan and Japan between 2015 to 2019, and during this period the number of passengers carried surpassed 72,000 people. In 2020, regular flights between the countries were suspended due to a pandemic.
Earlier, it was reported that Uzbekistan has imposed temporary restrictions on flights to India and Turkey.
