On the night of April 27, the second batch of the Russian Sputnik V coronavirus vaccine was delivered to Uzbekistan, the Ministry of Health said.
The Russian Embassy in Uzbekistan clarified that 50 thousand doses of the second component of the vaccine were delivered. Vaccination with the first component starts this week.
Uzbekistan received the delivery of the first batch of Sputnik V on 23 April. The volume of the batch was not disclosed. It was planned that a total of 1 million doses would be purchased. Half of the cost of the entire volume of "Sputnik V" was financed by Alisher Usmanov.
The Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov reported that by the end of the month Uzbekistan will receive 300,000 doses of the Russian vaccine.
According to the Ministry of Health, as of April 26, the number of people vaccinated against COVID-19 in Uzbekistan has reached 565 thousand.
