On April 24, the Uzbek Prime Minister landed in Tajikistan on a working visit. According to Asia-Plus, Abdulla Aripov held talks with Tajik Prime Minister Kohir Rasulzoda, and discussed important areas of bilateral cooperation, including political, trade and economy, investment, industry, education and science, culture, export and import, healthcare, railways, customs, energy and other areas.

“The parties also expressed constructive views on strengthening cooperation between Tajikistan and Uzbekistan and underscored that within the framework of the constructive initiatives and promising goals of the presidents of Uzbekistan and Tajikistan - Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Emomali Rahmon, friendly relations between the two countries have noticeably been stepped up and significant success has been achieved,” the statement said.

In addition, the counterparts emphasized the need to increase the two-way trade volume between Uzbekistan and Tajikistan, the construction of industrial enterprises and workshops in the free economic zones of Tajikistan and the construction of various purpose facilities.

The official delegation of Uzbekistan also visited the local history museum of the Sughd province. The guests got acquainted with the traditions, culture, history, rich heritage of the Tajik people and the achievements of independent Tajikistan.
