On April 20, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed the Awarding the veterans of the World War II Decree, UzA reported.
In connection with the celebration of the Day of Remembrance and Honor and the 76th anniversary of the Victory over fascism in the country on May 9, the participants and the disbaled of the Second World War will be paid a one-time monetary reward in the amount of 12 million soums.
The Council of Ministers of Karakalpakstan, governor’s offices and Tashkent city, together with the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Culture, the Ministry for the Support of the Mahalla and the Family, the Republican Center for Spirituality and Enlightenment and the Union of Writers, have been instructed to hold special meetings and cultural and educational evenings in with lockdown restrictions, dedicated to the defenders of freedom and honor of the Motherland.
In 2017, the amount of remuneration to war veterans and disabled people was 2 million soums, in 2018 - 5 million soums, in 2019 - 7.5 million soums, in 2020 - 10 million soums.
