On March 26, the President Shavkat Mirziyoyev hosted the Kyrgyz PM Ulukbek Maripov, who landed in Tashkent to attend the next meeting of the Joint Commission on Bilateral Cooperation, the presidential press service said.
The parties reportedly discussed the ways to further advance multifaceted cooperation between Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev pointed to the ways to boost the volume of the two-way trade, promoting significant cooperation projects in the spheres of industry, energy, agriculture and water management, the early launch of the development fund, as well as expanding interregional and cultural and humanitarian exchanges.
The parties noted the urgency of the earliest start of the construction of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway and the increase in cargo transportation along the Andijan-Osh-Sarytash-Irkeshtam multimodal corridor.
At the end of the meeting, the Kyrgyz PM assured of his readiness to make every effort to contribute to implement the agreements reached between the heads of the two states and aimed at the consistent development of the Uzbek-Kyrgyz full-scale partnership ties.
