The Foreign Ministers of Uzbekistan and Russia Abdulaziz Kamilov and Sergey Lavrov will hold bilateral talks on Thursday in Moscow on the sidelines of a meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).

"On September 10, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, on the sidelines of a meeting of the SCO Council of Foreign Ministers, will host his Uzbek counterpart Abdulaziz Kamilov," the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement. 

The parties are expected to consider the whole range of bilateral political, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian ties on the eve of the meetings of the Council of CIS Foreign Ministers and the Council of CIS Heads of State. 

Reportedly, the parties will focus on the preparation progress for the signing of interstate, intergovernmental and interdepartmental accords for the upcoming state visit of President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Russia.

The counterparts are also scheduled to discuss the tasks of the foreign ministries in the context of the forthcoming 2nd meeting of the joint commission at the level of the heads of government of Uzbekistan and Russia and the 21st meeting of the intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation, as well as within the framework of mutual support in the fight against the spread of the coronavirus infection.
