President Shavkat Mirziyoyev chaired a government meeing yesterday and touched upon the planned relaxing of lockdown measures, the presidential press service said.
“We need to gradually relax the lockdown restrictions in order to ensure the sustainable economic and social activity, to ease the livelihoods of the households, while stepping up the combat for the health and lives of our citizens. The people themselves are asking for this,” the president said.
He indicated that from August 15, unlimited circulation of vehicles, local air and rail services would be allowed.
The resorts, boarding houses, hotels, museums, children's health camps, beauty salons, hairdressing salons and outdoor catering facilities would also reportedly be resumed.
It will be possible to hold family events at home, with the participation of no more than 30 people and in compliance with the established restrictions.
From August 17, it is planned to resume the circulation of vehicles between the provinces, the activity of public transport (save for metro), including suburban buses.
From August 20, clothing and building materials markets, large stores, gyms, fitness clubs and swimming pools will be able to operate.
The President also instructed to simplify the quarantine procedure by persons arriving from countries with a stable epidemiological situation and to create rehabilitation centers for patients who have had pneumonia.
“With lockdown restrictions being relaxed, we all must keep social distance, wear masks, disinfection and other sanitary and hygienic rules, and must not repeat the earlier mistakes,” the president stressed.
“Glory to the Almighty, we have accumulated considerable experience. Our people, who have seen a lot, are showing courage and heroism, high medical culture. Observing iron discipline, with perseverance and patience, we will surely overcome these trials. I firmly believe in this,” Shavkat Mirziyoyev stressed.
