The CIS countries are set to adopt a cooperation program in the use of atomic energy for peaceful purposes until 2030, the Uzbekistan Foreign Ministry said.

The draft framework cooperation program was reviewed at the meeting of the Commission on Economic Affairs under the CIS Economic Council on July 22. The meeting participants also considered an action plan for implementation of the program stage I for 2021-2025.

In addition, the parties considered and adopted decisions on 21 items. In particular, the program documents were approved on the outcomes of implementation of the CIS Economic Development Strategy until 2020 and on the draft action plan for implementation of the first stage (2021-2025) of the CIS Economic Development Strategy until 2030, on the draft interstate program of innovative cooperation of the CIS member states until 2030 ", as well as on the draft agreement on information interaction of the CIS countries in the field of digital development.

The documents approved by the commission will be sent for reviewing to the Economic Council and the Council of Heads of Government (CHG) of the CIS. According to provisional data, the meeting of the Economic Council is planned to be held in Uzbekistan on September 11, the CHG - on November 6.
