President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev on January 20 arrived in Karakalpakstan to review the situation in the region, UzA reported.
In November, at the pre-election rally in Shumanay district, Shavkat Mirziyoyev spoke about the plans to fully support the inhabitants of the Aral Sea region. "We will visit each and every district and city, even the most remote rural areas and villages. We will listen to the concerns and problems that the people are facing, we will draw out programs aimed at solving their problems", - he said.
Harsh conditions of the region, including the environmental situation, require us to urgently resolve the problem of drinking water supply to the population, provision of quality health care and others.
The Head of State during his visit met with the people, visited families, got acquainted with their living conditions. In Khodjeyli District, he visited the central hospital, Muruvvat female boarding school, the school №69, as well as the construction project of the Agro-industrial center.
The Agro-industrial center which is to be commissioned in 2018, located an area of 11 hectares, will include a warehouse, processing and packaging facilities, terminal, loading platform, freezers, greenhouses, customs premises, hangar, hotel, canteen and sports complex.
The President also instructed by the end of the year to build and put into operation 40 multi-storeyed housing in Khodjeyli district.
Shavkat Mirziyoev also visited a rural clinicm where he met with physians and talked about building confidence of the population to the government bodies and employees of medical institutions, provision of rural medical centers with modern equipment and medicines.
In Shumanay district the President visited the children's school of music and art named after Zhumaboy Bozorov. Classes are held in more than 10 disciplines - national musical instruments, piano, choreography, visual arts and others.
The Head of State visited Qonliko'l District branch of Agroservice ICC, where he talked about the preparations for the spring sowing season. He instructed to gradually reduce the cotton fields and to develop cattle breeding.
The Head of State familiarized with the commencement of laying of 101 km Kungrad-Muinak water pipeline. With its launch of its operation some 7000 m3 of drinking water will be supplied daily to more than 25 thousand people.
