Uzbekistan’s population stood at 33.72 million on October 1, increasing by 469 thousand, or 1.4% year-to-date, the State Committee on Statistics said.
The share of people under working age is 30.5%, working age - 59.1%, and older than working age - 10.4%.
589.7 thousand new born children were registered in nine months, the birth rate per 1000 population at 23.5 promille, 1 promille increase to 2018, with 112.2 thousand deaths recorded during this period.
In nine months, registry offices registered 194.9 thousand marriages and 23.6 thousand divorces.
As of October 1, the population of Tashkent was 2.55 million people, increasing by 45 thousand people, or 1.8% year-to-date.
