Charter Flights Group, the operator of charter flights from Tashkent to Kyiv, was unable to launch flights between Uzbekistan and Ukraine, the company said.

Earlier, Uzbekistan Airways announced tha launch of once-a-week direct charter flights to Kiev as of October 5.

On Thursday, October 10, messages surfaced on Facebook of the cancellation of the charter flight and the company reimbursing the passengers.

The company added that its management was in Kyivholding talks with aviation authorities of Ukraine. “We hope that flights will resume,” the company noted.

The press service of Uzbekistan Airways said that under the terms of charter flights, the airline provides aircraft and crew for flights. “All other issues are delt by the organizer of the charters.

Regular flights from Tashkent to Kiev were suspended in 2015 due to the expiry of agreements between the aviation authorities of the two countries. Ukraine International Airlines has also suspended its Tashkent flights.
