Uzbekistan Railways will implement the Andijan-Savai-Khanabad railway modernization project, with the launch of suburban train service.
The government of Uzbekistan has issued a resolution approving the feasibility estimates for the project.
According to the document, the cost of the project is over US$ 17.39 million. Uzbekistan Railways will contribute over US$ 11.33 million to finance the project. Another US$ 6.06 million will be provided from the state budget.
The resolution states that the project will be implemented within 15 months, with about 65 km of railway tracks to be modernized as part of the project.
