Abdusalom Azizov has been appointed as Interior Minister of Uzbekistan, a January 4 statement of the Interior Ministry website said.
The Minister Azizov succeeded Adham Ahmedbaev in this post, who headed the Interior Ministry since December 2013. Prior to his appointment Abdusalom Azizov worked as head of the Interior Department of Jizzakh region.
Ex-Interior Minister Ahmedbaev has been appointed as the State Advisor to the President of Uzbekistan and will handle the work with law enforcement bodies.
