Ergash Shoismatov has been appointed as Chairman of the Board of UzTransGaz, which is part of UzbekNefteGaz holding, a statement of the company press service said.
The previous head of UzTransGaz, Shukurullo Mahmudov was appointed as the director of the Samarkand branch of MarkazGazTaminot.
Ergash Shoismatov (born in 1951, graduate of Tashkent Polytechnic Institute) served as minister of Energy and Electrification, chairman of UzbekEnergo (2001-2006) and Deputy Prime Minister (2006-2010) - head of government complex for geology, fuel and energy complex, chemical, petrochemical and metallurgical industries.
Since February 2014 he was the chairman of the Council of Energy Workers Trade Union.
UzTransGaz performs transportation and storage of natural gas, manages facilities transporting gas to local and foreign consumers.
