The First Deputy Foreign Minister Ilhom Nematov yesterday met with the Director General of the International Labor Organization (ILO) Guy Ryder, the Foreign Ministry said.
The parties reportedly thoroughly discussed promising areas of cooperaction between Uzbekistan and ILO.
Guy Ryder highlighted the significantly improved ties between the ILO and Uzbekistan in the last two years.
"Today, the parties can speak of the complete eradication of the child labor in Uzbekistan and significant progress in preventing forced labor, which the ILO Director General once again confirmed," the Foreign Ministry said.
Uzbekistan official said the country appreciated the fact that the ILO is supporting the ongoing reforms in Uzbekistan and the organization’s involvement in a number of joint social projects with Uzbekistan.
The parties also confirmed their mutual interest in expanding cooperation in some specific areas.
