On December 14, Uzbek Foreign Minister, Abdulaziz Kamilov met with the head of the Observation Mission of the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights, Ambassador Peter Johann Thejler.
The parties exchanged views on the latest activities of the Mission in Uzbekistan, which included 193 participants from 36 countries, including 20 long-term and 150 short-term observers, and the prospects for cooperation between our country and OSCE/ODIHR, in particular on further improving of the electoral legislation.
Ambassador Thejler congratulated the Uzbek side on the completion of election process and the Presidential inauguration ceremony held during the joint session the Oliy Majlis and thanked for assistance in the Mission’s activities.
In the meeting were also present the Deputy Head of Mission Polyna Lemos and political nalyst Stefan Szwed.
