Uzbek Foreign Minister Abdulaziz Kamilov today hosted the newly appointed Ambassador of Brazil with the residence in Moscow, Antonio Luis Espinola Salgado, the Ministry reported.

Accepting his credentials, the Minister Kamilov congratulated the Ambassador on the beginning of his diplomatic posting in Uzbekistan and wished every success.

In the course of the conversation, the counterparts considered proposals aimed at advancing the bilateral ties, noting that despite the geographical distance Uzbekistan and Brazil view each other as promising partners and are interested in tapping the potential of bilateral cooperation in the political, trade-economic, investment-technological, tourist, cultural, humanitarian and other fields.

The sides also exchanged views on the activation of Uzbek-Brazilian ties, giving them a more systematic character.

When discussing of international and regional issues, the Brazilian Ambassador was briefed about the agenda of the conference on Afghanistan, convened on March 26-27 in Tashkent entitled Peace Process, Security and Regional Ccooperation.
