In the first half of 2026, Uzbekistan's airports handled 64,831 flights, up 8% compared to the same period last year, the press service of Uzbekistan Airports reported. Of the total, 47,371 flights were international and 17,460 were domestic.
Passenger traffic over the six-month period reached 8,153,470, a 16% increase. International flights carried 6,698,358 passengers, while domestic flights carried 1,455,112. Cargo and mail volumes handled reached 51,546 tons, 33% higher than in the first half of 2025.
As usual, the lion's share of traffic went through Tashkent International Airport, which handled 40,283 flights (+7%), served 5,364,282 passengers (+17%), and processed 48,170 tons of cargo and mail (+33%). The company attributed the capital airport's growth to the expansion of its route network.
Notable growth in passenger traffic was recorded at the airports of Termez (+52%), Urgench (+24%), and Nukus (+23%), driven by the launch of new international routes as well as an uptick in domestic flights during the tourist season.
At the same time, some indicators declined at the airports of Fergana (11% fewer flights), Namangan (-11% in passengers), Karshi (-6% in flights and -22% in passengers), and Navoi (-27% in passengers). Uzbekistan Airports attributed this to shifts in the route network structure, adjustments in demand on certain routes, and the impact of the current geopolitical situation, which has led to schedule revisions.
