Andijan city mayor Dilmurod Rahmatullaev may be charged for insulting the heads of educational institutions with obscene words on October 16. the General Prosecutor's Office said in a statement.
The Andijan province prosecutor's office conducted a probe against the mayor, who is also the chairman of the Andijan city deputies council, the statement added.
"Considering that there are signs of an administrative offense in D. Rakhmatullayev's actions, which should be examined in court, the prosecutor's office requested consent from the city council to bring D. Rakhmatullayev to justice,” the statement concluded.
Currently, the city council is reviewing this request.
