Children’s Ombudsman, Surayyo Rakhmonova, has intervened following reports of alleged misconduct against a minor in the Akhangaran district of the Tashkent province.

The situation gained public attention after an 18-year-old named Artyom, identifying himself as the brother of a 14-year-old girl, posted a video statement. He alleged that a patrol police officer took his sister and her friends to a remote mountainous area in Akhangaran late at night and harassed them. The girl herself has corroborated these claims. However, the Regional Internal Affairs Bureau has formally denied the allegations.

An internal police investigation is currently underway, while the Akhangaran City Prosecutor’s Office is conducting a preliminary inquiry into the matter.

The Children’s Ombudsman confirmed she is monitoring the case closely to ensure the minor’s best interests are protected. "Further information will be provided as the investigation progresses," the office stated.
