A brutal murder took place in Denau district of Surkhandarya province on April 27. Surveillance footage from a local shopping area captured the moment a group of individuals arriving in Daewoo Nexia and GM Lacetti vehicles launched a violent assault on a father and son standing by the roadside. Shortly after, the group forced the son into one of the cars and drove away.
According to a source, the attack was allegedly orchestrated by a local crime boss a.k.a. Shakki. It is reported that he and his accomplices abducted the young man and beat him to death.
Preliminary reports suggest the crime was motivated by a land dispute. The victim had reportedly purchased a plot of land and registered it to Shakki, who was an acquaintance. The conflict erupted when the young man built a shop on the site and attempted to transfer the legal ownership back into himself.
The Surkhandarya Province Police Department provided the following official statement:
“On April 27 of this year, at approximately 5:50 PM, an incident occurred near a car wash in the Boghishamol neighborhood of Denau. A 35-year-old man, Q.Sh., 37, along with three accomplices—T.Sh., 30, Kh.Sh., 29, and another T.Sh., 30, assaulted A.U., 46, and his son, A.A., 22. The attack stemmed from a long-standing financial dispute between Q.Sh. and his uncle. After the beating, the group forced the victims into a GM Gentra and fled the scene.
The victim, A.A., was admitted to the Denau District Medical Association that same day with life-threatening injuries. Despite receiving medical treatment, he passed away on April 28.
The Denau District Police Department has launched a criminal case under Article 104, Part 2, Clauses "k" and "e" of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan (Intentional Infliction of Grievous Bodily Harm). All four suspects have been taken into custody."
