There is a persistent risk of militants infiltrating neighboring countries from conflict zones, potentially spilling over into the territory of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO). This warning was issued by Russian Defense Minister Andrey Belousov during a meeting of SCO defense ministers in Bishkek, according to a statement released by the Ministry of Defense on X (formerly Twitter).
"There are significant risks of militants moving from crisis zones into adjacent nations, including those within the SCO space," Belousov noted.
He further expressed Russia's grave concern regarding the ongoing instability in Syria, Lebanon, and Afghanistan, as well as the escalating humanitarian catastrophe in the Gaza Strip.
