The government is currently considering another revision of utility tariffs for households, a source said. Similar reports have also begun circulating on social media.

Under a government resolution issued last year, a mechanism was established to raise energy prices annually starting May 1, 2026. This adjustment is intended to track inflation but is capped at 10%. (Notably, a 2024 decree had previously suggested that tariffs would remain fixed for at least three years starting in 2026).

The source noted that a formal proposal to increase electricity and natural gas prices, drafted by the government’s economic bloc and the Ministry of Economy and Finance, is currently under review. According to the source, the draft document suggests a tariff hike exceeding the 9–10% mark, though a final decision on the exact percentage has yet to be reached.

If the proposal is approved, the new rates would take effect 15 days after an official announcement is made.
