Teachers in Uzbekistan will now receive a 50% discount on several key governmental services, according to a Cabinet of Ministers resolution.
Teachers and staff currently employed under labor contracts at educational and childcare institutions are eligible for the half-price rate on the following services:
- Real Estate & Land Cadastre: Registration and documentation services for property.
- Utilities: Connection to engineering and communication networks (water, gas, electricity, etc.).
- Certification: Assessments of knowledge in general education subjects and the issuance of corresponding certificates.
- Licensing: Permits to sit for exams to obtain tractor-machinery operator licenses.
- Apostille Services: Legalization of official documents for international use, among others.
In a separate move to bolster school leadership, principals and deputy principals of specialized schools and boarding schools will now participate in mandatory management training every five years.
Additionally, the government has established new formal procedures for the dismissal of students from specialized schools, as well as the rules for their transfer to other academic tracks or institutions.
